On October 28^th and 29^th the 2nd International Conference of Higher Education Researchers ‘Universities and State’ took place at the Higher School of Economics. The event was organized by the Russian Association for Tertiary Education Research with the support of the HSE.

On October 19^th a delegation from the University of Groningen (the Netherlands) visited the Higher School of Economics. The head of the delegation, Prof. Sibrand Poppema, President of the University of Groningen, told us about his university and the purpose of his visit to the HSE.

From October 1^st to 9^th 2011, the autumn school, ‘Contemporary public policy and governance in Russia and the European Union’, took place at the HSE. The school was organized by the all-university Department of Public Policy and the Willy Brandt School of Public Policy at the University of Erfurt, Germany.

On September 29th the first lecture in the cycle of meetings of top-managers of the largest in Europe gas company E.ON Ruhrgas AG with the university students took place at the HSE. Steffen Bruendel, Head of Cultural and Academic Affairs at the E.ON Ruhrgas Corporate Office, and Hans-Peter Floren, Member of the Board of Management, E.ON Ruhrgas AG, told us about this lecture course.

On September 27^th the 11^th graduation ceremony of the HSE International College of Economics and Finance undergraduate and master’s programmes took place at the British Embassy in Moscow.

On September 7^th, HSE students met with Edward Bace, Head of Education for the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) region of the Chartered Financial Analysts (CFA) Institute. The meeting was organized by the HSE Banking Institute.
