Education news at HSE University

On November 7, the Higher School of Economics and Rossotrudnichestvo signed a new agreement on cooperation. The document provides a framework for the future development of partnerships between Russia, the CIS, the Baltics, and Central and Eastern Europe in the educational and academic spheres.

As part of organizational reform at HSE, two more ‘big’ faculties are being created – the Faculty of Economic Sciences and the Faculty of Humanities. These faculties will include educational and research divisions in their corresponding fields. Changes will also take place in the structure of HSE’s Moscow State Institute of Electronics and Mathematics.

On October 29^th, 2014, Alexander Klimov, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Russia, Alexander Biserov, Deputy Head of Rosobrnadzor (Federal Service for Supervision in the Sphere of Science and Education), and HSE Rector Yaroslav Kuzminov, presented the annual monitoring of the quality of enrolment in Russian higher education institutions. The project was carried out by the Higher School of Economics and the Ministry of Education and Science in partnership with Rossiya Segodnya, an international news agency, and the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation. Agreements have been signed on a student exchange programme between the HSE and Finland’s Lappeenranta University of Technology (LUT). The documents also call for the creation of dual-degree master’s programmes between the two universities.
