The Education and Teaching Methods Council is a collegiate body at the HSE, which coordinates the activities of HSE departments in matters of preparation and improvement of curricula, course programmes, teaching and learning materials, as well as the coordination of educational programs.

The activities of the Council are devoted to a preliminary review of various aspects of HSE educational activities, including the development of criteria for assessing students' knowledge, monitoring the results of an internal assessment of the quality of education at the university. The competence of the Council includes the identification of current problems in the methodological support of the basic educational programs, the examination of draft educational standards, the examination and decision-making on necessary changes to existing educational standards, the examination of draft documents for the opening of new educational programs and their renaming, the elaboration of proposals for the operational correction of identified problems.
